Nutrition Guidelines
Your Personal Laws

These five basic nutrition guidelines should become the “laws” you commit to today. Although they are founded on solid fact, no other nutritional program follows all five of these “laws”. At best they may follow one or two of them.

Avoid Carbonated Beverages

You are probably aware that the caffeine and sugar in many carbonated drinks is not healthy for you. This fact is well known and nobody will deny it.

What you probably don’t know is that the manufacturers of these beverages use this information to deceive you. They will lead you to believe that simply reducing caffeine and sugar in their drinks is sufficient.

The fact is even non-caffeinated drinks that are carbonated, such as sparkling water, create problems for your health. The acid contained in these beverages interferes with your digestion.

This is why many people who drink diet sodas will still have problems losing weight. As an alternative I suggest you drink fresh fruit juices and water.

Say No to White Flour Products

Always choose grains as they come from the earth. Whole grain breads and pasta are higher in fiber and other essential nutrients.

I always pick 100% whole grain bread. 60% does not mean you are getting 60% of the nutrients. It means you are only getting 60% of the whole grain.

To learn why this is important please read Whole Food Vitamins. The same principals apply here.

Cut Way Back on Sugar

This may at first seem the most obvious one of your nutrition guidelines, but are you aware of the ways the food industry will try to deceive you? You need to watch for sugars disguised in the form of “glucose” or “corn syrup.” You should substitute fructose for other sugars.

Eliminate Fried Foods

I have said before that fat is a necessary part of your diet but be aware that the fat in fried foods cannot readily be used for energy by your body. The preferred method of preparing your foods is to steam, bake or broil them. If possible, it is even better to eat them raw.

Eat Raw Foods Whenever Possible

Raw foods come complete with their own supply of essential vitamins, minerals and necessary enzymes to aid in digestion.

When eating raw foods is not an option, make sure you take a plant based digestive enzyme supplement and use a whole food vitamin/chelated mineral supplement to ensure nutrition.

Now that you have established the five laws you are going to follow, let’s take a look at some important Nutrition Concepts or Principles.
