Metabolism – The Key to Lasting Weight Loss

Jennifer Ferniza, M.S., CCN, CSCS*D on Metabolism
Infinity2 Research & Technical Services Director

It seems that each year a new weight loss drug is released and dozens of new diet books are published, each claiming to have the answer to help you shed those unwanted pounds.

If you look at these books and drugs, you'll find that they all have one thing in common - they focus on calories. You may not realize that their focus is calories, but it is.

These scientists, authors and health professionals know that the equation for gaining and losing weight is very simple. If you use more calories than you consume you will lose weight, and if you consume more calories than you use, you will gain weight.

For this reason, low-calorie diets have proven the most common way to shed those unwanted pounds. The drugs and books all provide different ways to get you to eat fewer calories. For example, drugs suppress appetite and the diets limit specific foods or food groups (i.e. no carbohydrates, no fats, etc.).

These are all ways to get you to eat less. However, there are several drawbacks to this method of weight loss.

First, very low calorie diets decrease the activity of your metabolic enzymes and cause a loss of lean body mass.

Second, metabolism can quickly drop as caloric intakes are lowered, resulting in post-diet weight gain even when normal caloric intakes are resumed. These facts have led people to believe that calories control metabolism.

Calories don't control metabolism. Calories don't actually control anything. In fact, calories aren't even a component of food or your body. They are simply a unit of measure.

Calories measure energy, the same way inches or miles measure distance. The true controllers of metabolism are enzymes. Each cell in the body contains enzymes that produce energy.

These enzymes are your metabolic enzymes. The faster your metabolic enzymes work, the more calories you burn and the faster your metabolism.

The scientists at Infinity2 are experts in enzymes and understand that the key to metabolism is enzymes and providing the nutrition your body's enzymes need to function at their optimum level.

Now you can use the amazing power of enzymes to finally obtain the slimmer, leaner body you desire! The Enzyme Diet™ uses the power of enzymes to support your metabolism at its optimum level without drugs or stimulants.

It sets the stage for your body to pull fat from storage and use it as fuel. After just a few days of using The Enzyme Diet™, your body's metabolism begins functioning at the optimum level naturally.

Your body will burn the maximum amount of stored fat instead of going into starvation mode and slowing down your metabolism.

Consult your health practitioner on all medications, herbs and supplements you are taking. Consult your health professional before beginning The Enzyme Diet or any other diet or exercise program.

Some herbs can react with medications, both prescribed and over the counter, and some herbal combinations can cause serious side effects.
