Echinacea
To Stimulate the Immune System

Known for its immunological benefits, the herbal remedy Echinacea is believed to help your body defend itself from viruses that cause colds, sore throats and the flu.

This perennial herb grows in the U.S. and Canada and is a member of the sunflower family.

It has been used for centuries by Native Americans and has been known to treat eye conditions, burns, wounds, insect bites, toothaches, abscesses, joint pain, and as an antidote for snakebites.

The development of antibiotics caused a decline in its use until the 1980’s at which time disenchanted with the medical establishment led to renewed interest in the benefits of this natural remedy.

Again it appears that we are returning to nature for the answers to our health issues.

Currently, this well known herb is used to fight bacterial, viral, protozoan, and fungal infections, as an anti-inflammatory agent, and as a possible chemopreventive agent.

Studied Extensively

Much is now known about Echinacea. Both in vitro human and animal studies have shown an increase in immune function.

We now know that this herb stimulates white blood cell production and activity and appears to have mild antibiotic, bacteriostatic and antifungal effects.

Natural Killer Cell activity is also increased.

Recent research has been focused on the therapeutic benefit in treating symptoms of the Common Cold.

Although there has been mixed results, the majority of studies have shown a positive effect.

Look for Quality

As this herb is very well known and the demand for it is great, my suggestion to you is to consider the quality of the product before purchasing.

You may be tired of hearing this from me but I have to say, as always, look for the addition of a quality delivery system that ensures the nutrients are actually delivered to your cells where they can do their work.
